The bright colors on the trees made walking around the park in the dead of winter feel like walking around candyland. It is not only visually appealing, but also surreal and makes the experience memorable.

Winterlichter (5/7)
Night photography presents a number of challenges. While the trees are bright enough to get a snapshot with a camera, to get truly high quality pictures I took the steps detailed below. Happy Easter!
This picture from Winterlichter shows a part of the park that was lit up in bright pastel colors, with illuminated tubes handing down lit from the inside. You could walk through these tubes. It was a magical forest filled with light. The inner child in me took over and I ran through the hanging tubes, pushing them from side to side and watching how the movement changed the light. The scene reminds me of something I would dream.

The night I chose to spend in the park taking photos was Fasching Dienstag – fat Tuesday. The weather was cold and damp – I couldn’t feel my fingers after the first 10 minutes – and there was a slight breeze. Most people were celebrating at a festival in the town center, so park was nearly empty. A few schoolchildren were leaving as I entered.
