I’m a city person, but I do enjoy getting away and being in nature…as long as I can return to a shower and clean bed in the evening. When in nature, I am always fascinated at how simple things are, how different life is, and how we take so much like technology for granted. I took this picture while hiking in Norway. There was a heard of goats just chillin’ on the mountains that form the side of the Geiranger Fjord. It was striking at how different they live, and the farmers life is from mine.
The mountains fascinate me. Majestic, powerful, foreboding, fun, beautiful – there are many ways to describe mountains. In 2013 I spent Easter weekend in the Bavarian Alps. I had previously only been there in the summer months, and it was (un)surprisingly a completely different world. The snow really changes the landscape and the mountains looked more beautiful than ever – when you could see them. It was cloudy most of the time, but the owner of the B&B said that if you drive through a certain pass to Grän, Austria, it would be less cloudy. She knew her microclimates because the mountains poked through the clouds and the sun did as well.
