I’ve posted before about sea gulls and in fact this very boat ride to Telašćica Nature Park in Croatia. I like this picture because it is full of action, you only can see a bit of what is going on, yet you can still imagine the entire scene. I can imagine the birds having a conversation. It is almost a landscape shot, but the action in the corner upsets it. I like images with some kind of disturbing factor in them. What do you think? Is the picture too lopsided? What does this image evoke in your mind?

A Bit of B&W: Sv. Duh II
I have posted about this neat little island with a very small church on it before. This picture is so drastically different, I thought I would post it for this B&W series. Of course changes in lighting and time of day can really alter a picture. But this picture and the previous post linked above were taken minutes apart, yet they give completely different impressions. The black and white changes the mood, while the composure, with the path leading to the church at the center of the picture makes the island church the main character in this one. I like both, but there is a side of me that prefers the drama of this shot. Which one do you like better?
A Bit of B&W: Breaktime
Tourist towns are interesting. We mostly experience them as tourists, wandering through town, seeing the sights, maybe getting lost, and hopefully having a good time doing so. But what about those living in a touristy area? Do they despise the tourists? Do they feel like they are always on vacation?
Old Boat
On vacation in Croatia, I took a touristy boat cruise to see the national park Kornati. It is simply beautiful there. But sometimes the favorite part of an adventure is the unexpected. On the way back to Zadar, the boat stopped at a small village called Kukljica. Walking around the small harbor, I noticed some old boats in the water. Their fading, peeling paint immediately caught my eye. As usual, my mind wandered to wondering what the stories were behind the boats? I assume the owners used them to earn a living. Are they still used? No one was around to talk to so the questions remain unanswered.
How Many Sunsets?
