A Little Candle

Photography is all about light. While harder to capture images at night, there are so many different ways that you can manipulate the light to make an awesome image. This photo was taken at an event celebrating light and a park in Mannheim was illuminated in many different ways. It was a nice evening, and I love the ways this picture captures the atmosphere of the night.

I used my fixed 24mm lens to get this shot, I had to place the camera on the ground to hold it steady. The wide aperture allowed for the bokeh effect, which allows for nice contrast. A happy surprise – I like how the smoke coming off of the candle shows.
