Alpine Glow

The glow of the Alps is soothing. In general, I find the mountains to be relaxing and peaceful. When stressed, I often shut my eyes and think of myself somewhere in the mountains. Living relatively close to the Alps, I have been able to visit them quite often. What I really like about this picture are the colors. The dark green at the bottom and the dark blue at the top in contrast with the pastel colors in between. The moon shines bright and the mountains are aglow. What is your peaceful place?

With smartphones being ubiquitous, we have cameras on us at all times. I have been thankful for that many times. Nonetheless, I was very thankful I brought my Canon 600D to dinner this evening. We ate outside and as I saw the evening sky changing colors, I jumped up and started snapping. I wouldn’t have been able to get the same shot with my cell phone, good as the camera is. The colors also left as quickly as they came…if you see bright, beautiful colors at sunrise or sunset, know that you only have around 2-5 minutes to capture the sky. The sunset may last longer, but that exact color combination is fleeting.
