This is my absolute favorite picture from the entire shoot. The island is called the Vogelinsel or bird island and is a refuge for sea ravens and flamingos. If you enlarge the picture you can see the birds in the trees.
A number of aspects make this picture appealing. First, I like the contrast of a gray and dark sky and the colors at the center. Second, the Mannheim TV Tower is visible, which makes this picture unique to a city – it isn’t any refuge or display, it is in Mannheim. Third, the colors came through very bright. Finally, the reflection on the water is the icing on the cake. All of these aspects come together to make this picture my favorite.
