A while back I spend the day with a friend who also enjoys photography. My goal for the day was to photograph in black and white. Another photographer friend had recommended this assignment to me, as you really pay attention to dark and light rather than color. We spent the day in Wiesbaden and Rüsselsheim and the results were surprisingly good.
I found it more effective to set the camera to B&W rather than convert to B&W later. I really like this picture because it captures the mood perfectly. The contrast is clear. I like how everyone is moving away, except the runner, who seems to be running right into the camera. The trees and leaves form a nice pattern, but also give you the feel of the fall weather.
I recommend shooting for a day in B&W. I learned a lot from the exercise and am sure you would to.

Love B/W. Love the shapes of those trees. I need to come over with my camera. We need to take lots of pictures together (and not lose them). I could learn so much from you!
