There is beauty in simplicity. I think the beauty of this photo is that it is rather simple. Walking through Biograd, Croatia, I noticed a flowering bush. It was near an unspectacular gray house that wasn’t that well-kept. I stopped and started taking photos of the flowers. The first one didn’t come out, but as I moved around the bush, this composure came to me. But I didn’t realize the full impact of this until I viewed this in full size on my computer.
The composure and sunlight really makes this picture. The simplicity of the photo draws your eye to the intricate flowers, almost arranged on perfectly diagonal branches. I also like how there is more happening towards the lower right than on the upper left side. This stresses the simple background. The angle of the sunlight made it an easy shot. The hardest part was moving around to compose the picture properly. But it was worth the time investment.
