I like patterns, shapes, and design. I like simple geometric paintings from Mondrian, I like the cubists‘ works, and I like Escher, whose works deal with complicated, paradoxical patterns. If you don’t know these artists/movements, I suggest looking them up – they are a treat!
This photo is nowhere near as brilliant as the paintings, but I still really like it because of its simplicity. I was walking up steps in Trieste, Italy and noticed this pattern. I immediately got close and snapped this picture. I felt the color was distracting so I converted to black and white. I think this turned out pretty neat!
