I thought it would be appropriate to wrap up the New York City theme with this skyline picture. This is also one of my top 5 favorite pictures, as it was the first time this type of picture turned out the way I wanted it to. The Manhattan skyline is breathtaking and the blue, the building lights, and the reflection on the water make for an awesome postcard-like picture.
This picture was a bit of a challenge to get. By chance we had arrived back in New Jersey right after sunset. When I saw the light, I knew the photo I wanted to take. But I didn’t have a tripod around. I used a railing to stabilize the camera, but I didn’t want to go to a high ISO because of noise. It took a number of attempts but this came out well. In Lightroom I darkened the picture slightly but brought out the highlights giving the picture this look.
